At Tripaway, we believe travel planning should feel effortless, exciting and personal. As experienced travel consultants, our job is simple – to make every journey stress-free, perfectly planned and full of memorable moments.
We’re a small team of local travel experts with big-agency experience and a genuine passion for people. That means no call centres or guesswork – just real humans who care about getting every detail right.
Our Story
After long and successful careers with Flight Centre, our founders Andrew and Vivian took a leap and created the kind of boutique travel agency they always wished existed.
We started 18 years ago with one clear goal: to give travellers in the Southern Gold Coast and Tweed communities a trusted, independent alternative to the big corporate brands.
From day one, we’ve built our reputation on experience, integrity and care – helping our clients with everything from multi-country itineraries to last-minute changes no website could fix.
Then came COVID. Almost overnight, we were staring down bankruptcy. Instead of walking away (as our lawyers advised), we borrowed money, closed five offices and poured our own savings into keeping the business afloat – just so our clients could be refunded every cent they’d paid for cancelled trips.
That’s who we are: the kind of people who do the right thing, even when it’s the hard thing.
As proud members of Helloworld – Australia’s leading travel group and winner of the Best Travel Agency Group award at the AFTA National Travel Industry Awards in 2014, 2016, and 2018, we offer the best of both worlds. You get the buying power and resources of a major network combined with the personalised care and flexibility of a local business.
Our mission
Today, as the only independent travel agency in our region, our mission is twofold:
- To give local SMEs and NGOs a genuine choice that isn’t dominated by the two major corporate travel companies
- To provide our leisure clients and team members with a great environment to plan, book and enjoy travel
We want to be known as the local travel experts who care more, deliver better and make travel planning feel personal (and enjoyable!) again.
